Wellforce Unit Coordinator in Lowell, Massachusetts
The primary role of the Unit Coordinator is to manage the patient charge code, the patient registration in Paragon and Cerner. Enter charge codes in Athena for participating providers. Ensure that patient has a current referral or assist in obtaining. Answers the telephone professionally, providing the caller with accurate information, triages the caller to appropriate TEAM member as needed.
Hours: 32 hours per week, Evening Shift 3P-11P
1. Schedules appointments appropriately, acknowledging patients preference and unit specifications. Coordinates with central scheduling to book outpatient testing and register patients for clinic visits. Faxes orders to departments and consultants as needed.
2. Clarifies patient demographics at time of visit and has signed consent for treatment. Obtains a copy of patient insurance card.
3. Prepares, compiles, and maintains patient records according to established procedures. Obtaining and documenting appropriate referral(s) in the patient record. 4. Stocks adequate level of records, forms, and special order supplies according to unit inventory guidelines. Promotes cost containment through proper ordering of equipment and supplies. Notifies Director of back ordered items and arranges for temporary replacements. 5. Answers the telephone professional, provides the caller with accurate information, triages the caller to appropriate TEAM member as needed. 6. Complies information packets provide for a patient. Assist with informational session as needed. 7. Admits patients in the Cerner and paragon systems timely. Entering appropriate charges as indicated by providers. 8. Enters any patient payment collected at the clinic into the passport system. Balancing and forwarding collections to the cashier’s office according to policy.
