Wellforce Respiratory Therapist in Lowell, Massachusetts
The Respiratory Therapist performs/supervises services in a designated area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. Works cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality health care.
Maintain current knowledge in areas of respiratory therapy treatment modalities, oxygen delivery, mechanical ventilator management, diagnostic procedures (e.g., blood gas sampling and analysis, bedside pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, EKG's, BCLS, function and troubleshooting of respiratory therapy equipment, computer entry, organizational and verbal skill to produce complete and appropriate documentation, ability to communicate effectively and cooperatively with patients, family members, and hospital personnel.
Effectively administers respiratory therapy treatment modalities, oxygen therapy, Bedside pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry with exercise, EKG's, and other prescribed services.
Demonstrates ability to effectively apply the department's respiratory care protocols and to produce accurate documentation associated with these.
Demonstrates ability to effectively operate mechanical ventilators, respond to codes and traumas, and carry out other critical care duties specified by department policy.
Demonstrates ability to effectively draw and analyze blood gases, run quality controls and co-oximetry, perform computer entry, and perform other duties within the scope of the department's blood gas services.
Produces thorough and accurate documentation in department treatment
Cards and electronic medical records. This includes the Medication Administration record, Progress notes, power forms and ventilator monitoring, non-invasive ventilation, HHN/MDI treatment and oxygen therapy interventions
Demonstrates diligence and accuracy in computer charging and crediting.
Mass License Required
RRT credential preferred
BLS and ACLS required
2 years of critical care experience preferred
