Unit/ Position Summary:
The Medical Day Care Center (MDCC) is an ambulatory outpatient unit located at the Saints Campus. It is responsible for outpatient medical care of the adult patient. Patients who are eligible for treatments in the Medical Day Care Center receive the treatment, which can safely take place in the outpatient setting. Because this service has no emergency service, nursing will assess and transfer those patients requiring emergency care to the emergency department for evaluation and treatment.
Procedures include but are not limited to:
Management and care of Vascular Access Device, midlines and PICC lines
Administration of injections
Administration of intravenous medication for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Crohn’s Disease, Anemia, Osteoporosis, Infections, Dehydration, Allergies, Lupus
Blood product transfusions
Support physician’s offices with various tests
Massachusetts RN license required BCLS required 2-3 years of Medical Surgical experience required Must have excellent time management and customer service skills RN candidates must be able to use electronic based charting systems. Cerner experience is preferred Infusion Nursing Society Certification preferred
