This is a great opportunity for an experienced critical care RN to join an Intermediate Care Unit specializing in cardiac patients, at a 3-time Magnet recognized, community hospital. Position Summary: D4 is a 30 bed intermediate care/stepdown unit. This unit cares primarily for cardiac patients in need of cardiac catheterizations, post STEMI/angioplasty, NSTEMI, post pacemaker insertion, CHF patient’s, Atrial Fibrillation or other cardiac arrhythmia’s and hyper/hypotensive patients, not meeting ICU admission criteria. The RN is responsible for administering and monitoring drips independently. Care for vascular patients pre/post-surgery including carotid endarterectomies and Fem-pops and other diseases/diagnosis’s requiring close monitoring; such as sepsis, respiratory patients requiring BIPAP or High-flow oxygen, renal disease with/without HD, Neurological diagnosis’s, patients withdrawing from substance abuse and OB emergencies.
Hours: 24 hours per week, Evening Shift 3P-11P Qualifications:
Critical care experience required
Able to read and interpret Tele strips independently
Must have excellent time management skills
Use of electronic based charting systems. Cerner experience is preferred.
BSN preferred
Valid BLS and ACLS required, PCCN or CVRN certifications preferred
