Wellforce Patient Service Aide in Lowell, Massachusetts

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greets and provide intake services to all departmental visitors and screens incoming calls. Reviews documentation to identify clinical status and communicates with modalities.

  • Continuously monitors patients in waiting room and stretcher holding areas. Assists patients or seeks additional clinical support when necessary. Make basic observations and reports them to licensed staff, practices universal precautions, assists with bedpan and emesis basins; assists in lifting, transporting and ambulating patients.

  • Processes incoming and interoffice call rapidly, courteously and accurately (within 3 rings). Assists callers in any way possible by routing to appropriate personnel within the department.

  • Contacts physician’s offices to obtain written orders for exams when necessary. Obtains registration data and coordinates multiple examinations with multiple department sections.

  • Screens and processes requests for records from patients, insurance companies, lawyers, physicians, hospital departments, and other facilities. Executes the release and return of records to patients. Contacts other facilities to obtain previous exams as needed.

  • Possesses general knowledge of HIS/RIS, Lobby, Passport, transport system and PACS. Will assist with the department workflow by escorting patients to and from the exam rooms and filling supplies.

  • Demonstrates the ability to accurately and efficiently Digitize Mammography films as needed.

  • Uses language of caring and other tools to enhance communication and exceed patient/physician expectations by demonstrating the principles of Complete.Connected.Care.

  • Recognizes when others need assistance and consistently offers help when own workload permits.

    Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent desired

  • Strong Customer Service skills required

  • Medical Experience preferred
