Wellforce Mental Health Technician in Lowell, Massachusetts

The Mental Health Technician works under the supervision of the Director of the Emergency Department at the Saints Campus of Lowell General Hospital and with contracted behavioral health services, to create a system of quality health care.
Hours: Day/Evening Shift, 24 hours per week, Every Other Weekends Included
In this role you will:
Provide direct assistance to patients. Socialize, assist, and observe behavioral health patients. The technician observes patients for any abnormal behavioral or physical signs.
Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Assist with administrative duties such as documenting observations and activity of patient. Requires keeping detailed records, reporting changes in patients' behavior to the clinical care team.
Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients and help patients with daily living activities such as daily hygiene, showering and clothing.
Take vital signs, weigh patients and collect routine specimens.
Manage Patients’ valuables and belongings
High school diploma or GED
Health, Science or Psychology major/degree
Experience in the mental health field
Requires patience, the ability to handle stressful and demanding situations, exceptional communication and observing skills.
