Wellforce Clinical Nurse - RN - ICU Float Pool in Lowell, Massachusetts

We have a great opportunity for an experienced ICU RN that is looking to work close to home at a Magnet recognized, community hospital?

The ICU Float Pool RN position is a perfect position for an Intensive Care Registered Nurse who likes a fast paced environment with an opportunity to gain more ICU level experience. In this role you will float between 2 ICUs on the Main Campus and will work with critical care teams in a stimulating setting and with challenging patients. Attention to detail, team work and patient centered care guide our practice in the ICU. Float pool staff must have prior ICU experience as they will be expected to work in the ICU as one of the staff nurses.

All Float Pool RN positions offer additional compensation and only work one weekend a month.

Hours: 24 hours per week, 7pm-7am

Summary: Lowell General's Intensive Care Unit, or ICU, is designed for the latest in critical care services. Patients who are critically ill are closely monitored around the clock by a team of specially educated, experienced physicians and nurses.

The ICU's unique design enables the nursing and physician staff to have a full view of virtually all patients at all times. Each of the single rooms has state-of-the-art technology that enables staff to monitor patients' vital signs continually. For those visiting loved ones in the ICU, the wide, sunlit gallery surrounding the ICU provides a comfortable, attractive area to gather and provide emotional and spiritual support for the patient and each other. Visiting family members are welcome at any time.

The ICU main campus has achieved the high honor of BEACON AWARD for EXCELLENCE from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) which represents the highest distinction in excellence in patient care and the highest standards of professional practice.

Qualifications:

  • ICU and critical care experience is required

  • BSN preferred, Valid BLS and ACLS required, specialized certifications strongly preferred; PCCN, CCRN

  • Able to read and interpret Tele strips independently

  • Must be willing to float between units and campuses depending on organizational needs during shift.

  • Must have excellent time management skills

  • RN candidates must be able to use electronic based charting systems. Cerner experience is preferred.
