Job Title: Controls/Systems Engineer
Job Description:
Are you passionate about control systems and engineering? Do you have a knack for defining control system architectures and bringing them to life? We are seeking a skilled and innovative Controls/Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and model control systems, simulate vehicle controllers, and program embedded processors using cutting-edge tools like Matlab-Simulink and Embedded Coder. Collaborating with a talented group of Systems Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Firmware Engineers, you will play a pivotal role in testing controller hardware, debugging software, and developing control algorithms. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and serve as a subject matter expert in control algorithm development.
Responsibilities:
Define control system architecture, states, and modes.
Build, model, and simulate a vehicle controller in a plant.
Program embedded processors using Matlab-Simulink with Embedded Coder and New Eagle Raptor tools.
Collaborate closely with Systems Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Firmware Engineers.
Test controller hardware in the loop (HIL).
Debug and refine control software.
Mentor junior engineers and provide expertise in control algorithm development.
Interface with customers and vendors to ensure project success.
Perform design verification tests and other necessary tests.
Support manufacturing and field service to resolve any arising issues.
Essential Skills:
Proficiency in Matlab, Simulink, Modeling, Simulation, and Raptor tools.
At least 8 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 4 years developing control system software.
Circuit modeling and simulation experience using Matlab/Simulink and coder tools for embedded programming or similar model-based development tools.
Experience with C or C++ programming languages.
Proven experience in developing control systems for vehicles, aircraft, motor drives, or power electronics.
Familiarity with engine control systems, CAN Bus, battery storage systems, power management, motor drives, DC-DC converters, transmission, and traction control.
Ability to document design and author Software Design Descriptions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with third-party hardware mapping and programming tools, such as New Eagle Raptor tools.
Experience developing control systems for hybrid electric or battery electric vehicles.
High voltage safety training or knowledge.
Educational background or training in control system theories and applications.
Experience in signal conditioning.
Development experience for ground vehicle safety environments.
Design experience for military ground vehicles or automotive applications.
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another Engineering discipline from an accredited university.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $72.00/hr.
