Lawrence General Hospital Clinical Data Coordinator in Lawrence, Massachusetts

Responsible for abstracting a large volume of clinical case records within specified deadlines in support of LGH business objectives and compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Work involves: managing the overall record retrieval process for abstracting required data; collecting numerous complex data elements from individual patient records; ensuring the integrity of the electronic data transmitted to established national databases or internal databases, keeping meticulous records and presenting results to leadership. The incumbent is accountable for producing reports addressing variances from the regulatory standards for clinical outcomes, and identifying significant data trends, outlier values or unusual data for additional review by clinical or management staff. The incumbent is accountable for maintaining current knowledge of various accreditation/regulatory standards, including, but not limited to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), MassHealth, The Joint Commission (TJC), American College of Surgeons, National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). Current knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting matters within assigned scope of responsibility, data abstracting and entry methodologies, is required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, hospital administration, or related management field and/or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
