What You’ll Get to Do

CACI is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) for our US Air Force Cloud One Enterprise Application Modernization and Migration contract. This role will be crucial in managing and optimizing database systems as part of our cloud migration and modernization efforts.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database management, particularly in cloud environments, with the ability to ensure high performance, security, and availability of database systems throughout the migration process.

More About the Role

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP).

  • Lead database migration efforts from on-premises to cloud platforms.

  • Optimize database performance, structure, and scalability for cloud-based operations.

  • Implement and manage database security measures, including access controls and encryption.

  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for cloud-based databases.

  • Monitor database system health, performance, and capacity.

  • Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis.

  • Collaborate with application teams to optimize database designs and queries.

  • Implement and maintain database high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and cloud-native database services.

  • Provide support for database definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection.

  • Support database application integration.

  • Maintain database support tools, database tables and dictionaries.

  • Perform database recovery and back-up procedures.

  • Work collaboratively with customers, business analysts, developers, system testers, and end-users in a fast-paced, agile environment.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.

  • Strong expertise in relational database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).

  • Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).

  • Proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning.

  • Experience with database migration tools and strategies.

  • Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and database automation tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • Certifications in relevant database technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).

  • Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies.

  • Knowledge of FedRAMP and DoD Cloud Computing SRG requirements.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools.

  • Experience with database performance monitoring and optimization tools.

  • Understanding of AI/ML data requirements and database optimizations.

  • Experience with database high availability and disaster recovery in cloud environments.

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale databases (thousands of concurrent users, thousands of tables).

  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance regulations relevant to government contracts.

  • Experience working on Air Force applications and databases.

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100-$172,400
