Performs receptionist/secretarial duties within the Emergency Center & functions as the central communication source. Description Maintains accurate, complete & up-to-date patient records as prescribed by established Emergency Center policies & procedures, obtaining old records, reports, results, dictation, transcription, etc., as instructed. Answers phones, relays calls &/or messages, calls ancillary departments, private physicians, other healthcare facilities, etc., as requested. Coordinate all transport resources by established Emergency Center, CCH & regulatory agency policies, procedures, standards & recommendations or as requested by authorized physicians, management or nurses. Copies & faxes materials as requested, obtains, correlates & processes records & reports as required by established Emergency Center, CCH & regulatory agency policies, procedures, standards & recommendations or as requested by authorized physicians, management, or nurses. Adheres to departmental operating procedures & maintains a cooperative & courteous relationship with co-workers, physicians, volunteers, patients, visitors & allied healthcare professionals. Demonstrates proficiency & accuracy in the use of Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems) for looking up records. Represents hospital in the community & within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients. Maintains adequate quantity of forms, materials & supplies within workstation. Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies & procedures. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers & co-workers. Performs other work-related duties & activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor. Qualifications Ability to read, write & communicate in English. Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare informatics systems. Successful passage of medical terminology course, or successful passage of medical terminology challenge exam. Medical Secretary/Medical Receptionist experience preferred. Schedule Details: 32 Hour per week, Rot Days/Eves, 2p-10p, E/O Weekend & Rot Holidays
