Housing Assistance Corp. Director of Philanthropy in Hyannis, Massachusetts

The Director of Philanthropy reports to the Vice Present of Philanthropy & is part of a high-functioning & development team dedicated to maintaining the vibrancy, health, & prosperity of Housing Assistance Corporation. The Director of Philanthropy will be responsible for executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused on major gifts & planned giving initiatives. This role will involve cultivating relationships with donors, managing a portfolio of high-capacity giving prospects, & working collaboratively with the leadership team to advance the mission. Essential Functions Execute a plan for major & planned giving efforts that align with the department?s overall fundraising goals. Cultivate, solicit, & steward relationships with 50 major gift & planned giving donors & prospects. Organize & conduct regular meetings & events to engage donors & prospects. Implement the moves management program to identify, cultivate, solicit, & steward prospects. Provide technical assistance to donors regarding options for planned gifts. Work closely with the development team & senior leadership to identify key funding priorities & develop compelling cases for support. Utilize metrics to evaluate & report on the progress of major & planned giving initiatives. Prepare regular reports to the Vice President of Philanthropy on fundraising activities & donor engagement. Represent the Housing Authority of Cape Cod in the community, attending events & meetings to raise awareness of the organization?s mission & fundraising needs. Raise gifts to compete the final phase of the capital campaign. Identify, research, rate, & pursue new relationships to cultivate new prospects with the capacity to increase giving to \$5,000+. Identify new prospective donors through their event participation Collaborate with Development Team on marketing materials, development events. Serve as an ambassador & spokesperson for the organization & articulate our mission to external constituents. Together with the Vice President of Philanthropy to educate & train board members & senior staff in donor cultivation & professional fundraising techniques. Collaborate with staff to develop & produce regular analytic reports for senior management & Board Members that synthesize the financial progress & trends of fundraising activities. Attends staff meetings & trainings as required. Required Qualifications, Education, & Experience Bachelor\'s Degree. Minimum 5-8 years of directly related experience with major & planned gifts, preferably in the Cape Cod region. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals. Experience with staff & board management, engagement & development. Demonstrated experience cold calling & asking for donations. Demonstrated success in developing & implementing effective fundraising strategies. Donor communications experience. Experience managing a capital campaign. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, & influencing skills; persuasive, credible & polished communicator both written & verbal. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office & database management, specifically Raiser?s Edge. Knowledge of tax laws & regulations relating to charitable giving is a plus. Preferred Qualifications, Education, & Experience Creative, independent, & strategic thinker. Self-starter with a proven ability to meet & complete multiple tasks with solid deadlines.
