Job Title: WIOA Career Counselor (Bi-lingual, Spanish, and English) Location: MassHire Holyoke Career Center Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, some evenings, and weekends Salary: \$45000-\$48000 A friendly, collaborative, team-oriented workplace Health, Dental, Vision, Retirement benefits and more Generous Personal Time, and 14 paid holidays Tuition Assistance Summary: Working closely with all MassHire Holyoke Career Counselors and Job Developers across multiple programs, provides bilingual individual and group counseling, educational and vocational and training services funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other similar programs. Supports job seekers with program screening, assessment, and registration; training and career exploration: preparation of grant contract requests; referrals to support services; job search; resume and interview preparation; and other core counseling services. As assigned, provides support for WIOA partners, such as the delivery of DTA (WPP, WPP Expanded, and CIES) career counseling services. Position Specific Responsibilities: Provides appropriate, up-to-date, bi-lingual (English and Spanish) job search, career management and education and training information as defined by WIOA, its mandated partners, and other related programs. Uses remote video and telephonic platforms to provide these services when necessary. Assists Customers in understanding eligibility and participation requirements. Supports Customers in completing WIOA/TAA/NEG/CIES contract requirements and other government funded programs as needed. Follows-up with customers on a timeline dictated both by customer need and WIOA and other program requirements. Assists with computerized job search activities, such as on-line application preparation; using job search engines; researching employer websites; and exploring training and educational opportunities. Refers customers to appropriate educational and vocational training opportunities. Assists customers in accessing community support services, both informally as well as using formal referral processes when required Coordinates and facilitates communication between the customer and training vendor. Assists training vendors in seeking ITA and TOPS (Section 30) approval for their programs. Keeps timely and accurate records as required by WIOA and MassHire Holyoke?s own data system. Facilitates individual and group WIOA Registrations, Career Center Seminars, and Training Opportunity workshops MassHire Holyoke Career Center Expectations of All Staff: Actively supports through task and attitude a priority on exceptional service Strives at all times to make customers feel welcomed and comfortable and provides accurate information to meet their needs. Generates ideas to make MHH a better place for customers and staff. Technology proficient and able to manage workload using Microsoft and other common software applications. Ability to be sensitive to, understand, and respect customer and staff confidentiality issues. Ability to travel using personal vehicle (MHH will reimburse for mileage)
