State of Massachusetts Environmental Services Supervisor - Evening Shift in Holyoke, Massachusetts

The Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke is seeking an experienced and collaborative professional for our Evening Shift Environmental Services (EVS) Supervisor. The incumbent for this position is responsible for the Evening Shift EVS team to maintain the Soldiers’ Home’s clean, sanitary and attractive condition. _Schedule:_ *This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position working from 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm, with an alternating weekend and holiday schedule. Please note: This is 24 hour/7 days a week long-term care facility and as a result, the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke may require this individual to be present during nontraditional hours when circumstances dictate the operational need. */_Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_/ * Coordinates the activities of the assigned units to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards. * Aids new employees with in-service and on the job training. * Prepares all work assignments for the Evening Shift staff. * Coordinates the floor cleaning program and cleaning schedule for the stairwells and elevators. * Infectious waste pick up. * Covers wherever necessary during staff shortages, vacations, illnesses, etc. * Basic knowledge of computers and their use pertaining to the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke Housekeeping programs. * Complies with all VA, JCAHO and DPH requirements. /_Required Qualifications:_/ * Ability to deal tactfully with others. * Ability to lift and/or carry heavy objects with or without an accommodation. * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. * Knowledge of safety practices and procedures followed in institutional housekeeping. * Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with others. * Skilled in the use of a computer. /_About the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke:_/ The Soldiers' Home in Holyoke is a state-funded, fully accredited health care facility that offers veterans quality health care, including full-time residential accommodations, and provides educational and social services for Veterans in the Commonwealth.
