POSITION SUMMARY: The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for short-term and supplemental therapy staffing needs within GRS. He/she is responsible for the recruitment and coordinating assignments of GRS casual employees (Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and Speech/Language Pathologists) and contract therapy professionals within his/her assigned regions. The Staffing Coordinator strives to maximize the use of GRS' internal casual pool and decrease the use of contract therapy professionals from purchase service agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Provide full life cycle recruiting (sourcing, screening, phone interviewing, negotiating salary and hiring) PRN therapists for GRS facilities. Maintain active open requisitions and identify needs for additional PRN therapists within his/her region.

  2. Builds relationships with GRS' casual (per diem) employees and gathers information about their personal preferences and their availability to work for GRS (e.g., commuting preferences, building preferences, weekly availability, etc.). Leverages these relationships to schedule GRS casual employees in short-term assignments whenever possible, thereby minimizing the need for contract therapy professionals. Communicates GRS initiatives and incentives for casual employees, as appropriate.

  3. Interfaces with GRS management to identify strategic staffing needs throughout his/her assigned area(s). Maintains an accurate list of the open needs in his/her assigned area(s). Works quickly to fill the needs with casual employees and/or contract therapists (where required), giving preference to GRS casual employees. Maintains constant communication with GRS management about the status of open needs. Attends regular staffing meetings with the managers and recruitment in his/her assigned area(s).

  4. When appropriate, submits staffing needs to the purchased service vendors (staffing agencies) that GRS works with to place contract therapy professionals in shifts that GRS staff are unable to fill. Screens contract therapy professionals for suitability and presents them to GRS management for interviewing. Negotiates with vendors for the best rates. Confirms candidates and liaisons between GRS management, contract therapists, and vendors throughout the duration of the assignment. Ensures that vendors are held accountable to the terms of their contract with GRS, including strict credentialing requirements.

  5. Strives to convert contract therapy professionals to employment with GRS, when possible and when it is financially prudent for GRS.

  6. Develops solid working relationships with colleagues -- particularly in Human Resources, Recruitment, and Operations.

  7. Manages the on-boarding process for new casual employees.

  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
