What Does the Internship Program Offer?
Pearson’s Evaluation Systems group is seeking a Psychometrics Intern to support its teacher licensure programs during a 10-week summer internship. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in psychometric research and analysis while contributing to important projects that impact educational assessments.
Pay rate
$25.00 per hour/$10,000 for 10 weeks (up to $12,000 with extension)
Job Description
As a Psychometric Intern, you will have the chance to join our dynamic Psychometrics and Data Analysis team for the summer. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to immerse yourself in research, psychometrics, and data analysis, all while contributing to critical projects focused on educational assessment.
What does the 10-weeks involve?
During the 10-week internship, you will update item response theory (IRT) calibrations for targeted test titles for teacher licensure tests to support the transition to linear-on-the-fly testing (LOFT), draft initial versions of post-standard setting conference reports for teacher licensure tests, and conduct research to evaluate the reasonableness of new cut scores for teacher licensure tests.
This position is fully remote, with occasional travel to company offices or partner locations as necessary. The role is primarily designated as a Remote Employee. For reporting purposes, the office location will be US-MA-Hadley-300 Venture Way.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and be actively pursuing a Master's or PhD in Educational Measurement, Psychometrics, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field. Familiarity with Item Response Theory (IRT) and psychometric principles.
Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, or equivalent) is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
