About the Job
The Senior Adult Unit at Addison Gilbert Hospital is an 18 Bed Gero Psych-Med Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit which opened in 2004. The unit is part of the Inpatient Behavioral Health Division of BILH Beverly, Addison Gilbert and BayRidge Hospitals. This restraint free voluntary unit is recognized as NICHE Exemplar and IHI Age-Friendly.
The Nurse Manager maintains 24-hour accountability for the clinical and management functions, as well as monitoring and evaluation activities pertinent to the operation of the department. Emphasis is on the supervision of the staff who are providing direct patient care through the nursing process. Care is rendered to age-appropriate populations on the patient care unit. He/She is responsible for maintaining established standards, managing and coordinating the care and services provided by ancillary and other professional personnel. This position is responsible for maintaining ongoing collaborative and collegial relationships with Medical Staff, clinical and support departments. The Nurse Manager demonstrates clinical skill and competence as necessary.
40 hour, exempt position

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Baccalaureate required in nursing or other related health care field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Gerontological Nursing. Previous leadership experience or demonstrated leadership skills. Theoretical as well as practical knowledge of acute care Gerontological nursing. Exhibits ability to be oversee: Medical and Psychotropic medication administration, De-escalation management of patients with Dementia and end-of-life care.
Current Massachusetts license as RN. BCLS.
Demonstrates leadership qualities with adaptive abilities and strong interpersonal relations skills. Possess management skills and the ability to effectively supervise employees. Ability to use sound administrative practices. Work cooperatively and effectively with others and ability to adapt to changes in the workplace. Must be fluent in English (verbal and written).
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Baccalaureate required in nursing or other related health care field or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of practice.
Previous leadership experience or demonstrated leadership skills
