Boston University RESEARCH SPECIALIST, School of Medicine, Framingham Heart Study in Framingham, Massachusetts
The Research Specialist (RS) will actively participate in the evaluation of volunteer participants during a non-invasive research exam at the Framingham Heart Study (FHS). Our highest priority is to engage with our volunteer participants and make them feel welcome and appreciated while collecting data in accordance with the study protocol. The RS will perform ECG testing, take body measurements, administer questionnaires, conduct cognitive testing, and draw blood, if interested. No experience necessary; we will train you to perform these activities. RS will also review charts, keep logs, maintain protocol adherence, prepare reports and attend staff meetings. Provide clinical and administrative support to ensure quality and consistency of exam operations at FHS. The person in this position must have a friendly affect and be comfortable working with study volunteers. Position is located in Framingham, MA. Schedule is Monday-Friday, typically 7:30am-3:30pm but varies slightly depending on daily schedule. Occasional Saturdays required (3-4 in Spring and 3-4 in Fall). Occasional travel to participants' homes to conduct offsite examinations is required.
Required Skills
Bachelors’ degree, with 1-3 years of work experience is required. Knowledge of medical terminology and Spanish fluency is a plus.
