Staples Nurse Case Manager in Framingham, Massachusetts

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversight of associate’s post injury medical care; recommendations for appropriate treatment and providers.

  • Working with individual locations/management to formulate return to work strategies for associates given light duty work restrictions.

  • Strategic and tactical responsibilities – Claim strategy development from a medical perspective to assist with achieving desired claim outcome.

  • Develop improvements to existing processes and procedures, and/or create new procedures, to ensure associates are receiving appropriate post injury care and all necessary statutory requirements regarding the same are met by our locations (ie. Panels are being provided in panel states, direction of care is being utilized where applicable, etc)

  • Focus on creating light duty return to work opportunities within all locations, where appropriate, to encourage associates’ return to work as soon as possible and reduce associated indemnity costs.

  • Effectively communicate with injured employees, medical professionals, claims staff, attorneys, and others to obtain information, and to negotiate medical treatment and return to work plans using critical thinking skills, clinical expertise and other resources as needed to achieve an optimal case outcome.

What you bring to the table:

  • Ability to analyze and make sound nursing judgments and to accurately document activities.

  • Strong communication skills to build relationships with injured associates, medical professionals, internal management, claims staff and others.

  • Good negotiation skills to effectively establish target return to work dates and coordinate medical care.

Qualifications :

What’s needed - Basic Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited nursing school required (prefer Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience; prefer previous orthopaedic, emergency room or critical care experience.

  • Must have current unrestricted registered nurse (R.N.) license in the state where the position is based, and other assigned states as required by law.

  • Must have additional professional certifications, such as CCM, COHN, CRRN, etc., where required by WC law.

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous medical case management experience

  • Knowledge of state, local, and federal laws related to health care delivery

Salary: 90K
