Advocates Medication Supportive Recovery Team Administrative Assistant in Framingham, Massachusetts
Overview
Rate: $20-$22/hour
The Medication Supportive Recovery Team Administrative Assistant creates a customer-friendly environment in which visitors to the clinic are greeted, phone requests are managed, and waiting room spaces are clean and welcoming. The Medication Supportive Recovery Team Administrative Assistant ensures that the general business functions of the clinic, such as scheduling and appointment reminders, function smoothly and efficiently under his/her guidance.
Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma/GED
Responsibilities
Greet visitors to the clinic with eye contact, a smile and by name, when possible.
At the time of appointment, update contact information, verify insurance, and collect co-payment.
Notify members of the clinical team when a person arrives for a scheduled appointment.
Respond to telephone and email inquiries promptly. Direct calls and emails to the appropriate personnel within the clinic or agency.
In collaboration with the Intake Director Schedule ongoing and intake appointments for therapists.
Manage filing system and storage of medical records in compliance with clinic regulations.
Acquire required authorizations and be able to open service lines.
Be able to identify and respond to an overdose patient.
Function as a liaison between the patient and other care team members.
Create charts for therapist and ensure forms are filed appropriately.
Send and file faxes as needed for clinical staff.
Ensure that the waiting rooms are clean, organized and maintained.
Provide administrative support and assistance to clinical staff.
Assists with medical services tasks as needed.
Contact appropriate department and/or personnel in cases of an emergency.
Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy and a trauma informed environment.
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
Knowledge of addiction and recovery process in general.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals.
Basic computer knowledge.
Excellent customer services and communication skills.
Ability to read and speak English, bilingual preferred.
