Amergis Endoscopy Technician in Falmouth, Massachusetts
The Endoscopy Technician / Gastrointestinal Technicianassists endoscopy nurses and physicians in the gastroenterology (GI) specialty. The Endoscopy Technician / GastrointestinalTechnician assists patients who have stomach or intestine problems, or thosewho are undergoing diagnostic procedures and/or treatment for various GIrelated illnesses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies
Performs safety checks to verify proper equipmentfunctioning
Collects and delivers specimens collected during procedures,ensuring the field remains sterile
Prepares suites or rooms according to endoscopic procedurerequirements
Cleans, disinfects, or calibrates scopes or other endoscopicinstruments according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards
Maintains or repairs endoscopic equipment
Positions or transports patients in accordance withinstructions from medical personnel
Assists physicians or registered nurses in the conduct ofendoscopic procedures
Collects specimens from patients using standard medicalprocedures
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Endoscopy Technician Certification may be required perstate/client contract
One year of experience preferred within medical assisting,surgical technology and/or GI
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Current experience indecontamination and disinfection of endoscopic equipment
GI Endoscopic Experience
Current BLS
COVID vaccine not required
