Job Description Summary

The Medical Assistant I will be working in close partnership with provider(s), will assist and direct care of patients. Their primary function is to manage efficient patient flow and to be available to assist providers as needed. The Medical Assistant is responsible for various clinical skills appropriate to training and scope for the maintenance and control of non-pharmaceutical supplies and equipment, and for assigned support activities. Provides excellent customer service to patients, health center staff and outside agencies. Provides quality support and care to patients by working as a multidisciplinary care team member across the health center Full Time; Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00pm and will include evening and weekend rotations.


  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • Graduation from a Certified Medical Assistant Program

  • BCLS certification (per department policy).

  • Bilingual skills preferred.


  • New Grad Medical Assistants welcomed, Two years as a Medical Assistant preferred


Accurately performs the following as indicated :

    1. vital signs, O2 sat, pain scale (0-10)
    1. weights, height, LMP
    1. Spirometry
    1. EKG
    1. Peak flow meters.
    1. Use of Oxygen equipment
    1. Point of Care testing
    1. Cleans and wraps instruments for sterilization
    1. Follows proper sterilization protocols as indicated
