POSITION SUMMARY

Abiomed is looking for a data analyst co-op to help support the Danvers production facility into the future. The Production Data Analyst Co-op will partner with functional leads/SME’s, business stakeholders to understand needs and opportunities, and translate them into analytics and reports that allow team to understand relationships and performance more deeply, forecast and sense changes, and monitor performance to plan. The candidate will be expected to be well integrated with the manufacturing operations teams directly on the manufacturing clean room floor, and will be exposed to cutting edge technology supporting heart pump production.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for continuous improvement, standardizing processes and figuring out how to leverage big data and visualization tools to solve problems, evaluate hypothesis, and optimize production performance and capabilities while adapting to changing and growing business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support production planning and inventory strategy development to meet business requirements. In addition, supports, monitors finished goods inventory levels.

  • Develop production analytics capabilities and outputs, as we work to shift to more proactive identification of opportunities and issues and elevating performance management and reporting needs of all levels of management.

  • Support the monthly Global S&OP (PSI) process through data alignment, reporting, analytics, and scenario development. Serve as liaison between planning, sourcing, and operations teams.

  • Develop and provide KPI reports on metrics such as overtime, productivity, yields, utilization, etc. in order to inform better decision making. Identifies and proposes processes that proactively alert the business to opportunities and risks within the organization’s production and supply chain. Develop and report supporting KPIs.

  • Develop business analytics that enable identification, prioritization, and justification of improvement programs that optimize production planning.

  • Leverages data analytic tools and create dashboards that support our daily management tiered system.

  • Managing & optimizing our material replenishment system, in preparation for our MRP system introduction.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Junior, senior or grad student pursuing a degree in engineering.

  • Prior work experience desired. Medical device experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Domo, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, MSPower BI) in data analysis preferred.

  • Ability to Communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written)

  • Execute tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision. Able to prioritize tasks.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of SAP preferred.

Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

The anticipated base pay for this position is between 22$ per hour and 51.50$ per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. This position is overtime eligible. Intern/Co-ops may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, and the Company’s consolidated retirement plan in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans. Housing stipend will be offered for those that qualify. This position is ineligible for severance.
