POSITION SUMMARY

The preCARDIA Team is focused on rapidly developing a novel treatment for patients experiencing heart failure. Our team is small, tight knit, and nimble – you will play an integral part in driving the definition and development of the preCARDIA system . We are searching for a Product Development Engineer (Biomedical, Mechanical, or Electrical) that can assist us primarily in the design of one or more elements the preCARDIA System . During your time, you may also play a part in the development of our console, catheter, introducer sheath, and sterile packaging.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design components and mechanical test fixtures, conduct engineering tests for design characterization.

  • Participate in usability studies, user validation, and clinical feedback to shape next generation devices.

  • Create engineering drawings and documentation of our mechanical system.

  • Analyze data and present results to larger engineering team.

  • Participate in the cross-functional product development process from creation of design requirements, verification, and support regulatory submissions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Junior, Senior, or Grad student pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or directly related discipline.

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks (or comparable CAD program) preferred.

  • Strong design, testing, and analytical skills required (e.g. engineering and statistical analysis). Knowledge of Python or MATLAB for data analysis is preferred.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail demonstrated in previous project and work experience

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We will not be able to provide any sponsorship now or in the future.

The anticipated base pay for this position is between 22$ per hour and 51.50$ per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. This position is overtime eligible. Intern/Co-ops may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, and the Company’s consolidated retirement plan in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans. Housing stipend will be offered for those that qualify. This position is ineligible for severance.
