State of Massachusetts Physical Therapist Aide in Danvers, Massachusetts

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED DANVERS, MA. DDS would like to announce the availability of a full-time Physical Therapist Aide position working in the Northeast Region for the Hogan Regional Center. This position is part of the physical therapy department at the Hogan Regional Center in Danvers Ma, this position will be used throughout the facility including all residential units with concentration on the Evaluation and Stabilzation Unit and 2 Hathorne Circle _GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: _ * Provides ambulation opportunities to designated individuals under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist in accordance with practices to facilitate and integrated service delivery to individuals. * Provides carryover of designated positioning, range of motion, weight bearing, pool or sensory motor programs in accordance with individuals’ ISP focuses and objectives to improve level of functioning * Provides carryover of designated developmental, relaxation, range of motion activities and in-service training to staff, under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist in accordance with accepted standards of practice to maximize individual’s level of independence, will assist in the application of individual’s orthotic devices, monitors equipment for fit and repair. Assist in maintenance of equipment in compliance with existing standards to assure delivery of quality services. * Will document individual’s status utilizing data collection methods as designated by the physical Therapist in compliance with facility policies in order to monitor individual’s progress. _DETAILED DUTIES:_ * Demonstrates proper therapeutic techniques and observes individual safety issues. * Demonstrates good time management skills and is able to prioritize scheduling conflicts as they arise. . * Requests and participates in supervision with physical therapist on a regular basis. * Communicates with supervisor and decisions are made with input from supervisor re: PT issues. * Communicates effectively with all staff necessary to facilitate an integrated service delivery model * Demonstrates an understanding of principles of proper positioning utilizing adaptive equipment. * Able to effectively provide in service training to staff for carryover of proper positioning techniques.. * Provides carryover of designated treatment techniques as developed by physical therapist. * Demonstrates sound judgment in decision making requests. * Utilizes supervision from physical therapist in an appropriate manner. * Able to prioritize scheduling conflicts and demonstrates good time management skills. * Provides effective in-service training to staff as assigned by the physical therapist. * Demonstrates ability to apply orthotic devices as instructed by the physical therapist. * Monitors equipment for fit and repair and provides timely follow-up when needed. * Participates in adaptive equipment fittings and attends orthopedic and orthotics clinics as assigned by the physical therapist * Maintains accurate data on individual’s treatment. * Provides documentation to reflect individual’s progress under the direction of the physical therapist in a timely manner *PLEASE NOTE:* This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work. This position is in a program that operates 24-hour/7 days a week.
