Emerson Hospital Manager, Clinical Pharmacy Practice and Medication Safety in Concord, Massachusetts
Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, the Manager, Clinical Pharmacy Practice and Medication Safety, is responsible for the oversight and coordination of clinical pharmacy practice and the medication safety programs for the Department of Pharmacy Services to ensure safe and clinically appropriate medication use is aligned with evidence-based best practices and regulatory standards. This includes, but is not limited to, the coordination of performance improvement activities, medication policy and procedure and guideline development/evaluation/revision, medication use evaluations, and for establishing, developing and maintaining the clinical pharmacy activities of Emerson Hospital.
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is required.
Masters in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is required. Must possess solid experience in the development of programs focused on achieving positive clinical outcomes with the use of medications.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital pharmacy management or supervision of a pharmacy program is preferred.
A strong background in clinical pharmacy practice coupled with a pharmacy operations responsibilities is highly desirable.
Licensure and/or Certification:
Active licensed Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or eligible for reciprocity) is required
A general or specialized pharmacy residency is preferred.
Board certification is preferred
Completion of additional training in medication safety principals is preferred
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Computer skills required.
