Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Medical Surgical Nursing Services, responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the Medical Surgical Oncology Department as directed by nursing management. Nursing care is provided in accordance with the stated philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Service Department, regulatory agencies and professional organizations. The Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for the safety of nursing care they deliver or supervise.
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible to the patient and the family or significant others for the quality of direct and indirect nursing care delivered or supervised.
Minimum Qualifications
· Education
o Graduate of a practical nursing program required.
· Experience
o Minimum of 1 to 2 years medical surgical experience preferred.
· Licensure and/or Certification
o Currently licensed as Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
o BLS healthcare provider required.
o PALS referred.
