Emerson Hospital Clinical Leader-Respiratory & Sleep Services in Concord, Massachusetts

Reports to and works closely with the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology to identify RT and Sleep department staff needs. Responsible for department-based orientation of new personnel, ongoing staff education and CQI activities and for assisting the manager in determining staffing needs and other department needs. Assists in patient care assessment, planning and evaluation of therapies and interventions and the resolution of problems. Displays practical judgment with the ability to make management decisions in the absence of the manager. Works cooperatively with the Pulmonary Lab Coordinator and Respiratory – Clinical Leader regarding clinical aspects of ABG lab, HST lab and Sleep Service diagnostic and therapeutic quality assurance.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent required.

Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy (RT) program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied

Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.

Training and credentialing in Sleep Diagnostics and Therapeutic Interventions via NBRC or BRPT

Experience:

Previous RT experience preferred.

Previous patient care experience preferred.

Appropriate clinical rotations during the RT program are considered as satisfactory experience.

Sleep Lab - diagnostic and therapeutic experience.

Licensure and/or Certification:

Must have current licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Respiratory Therapist.

RRT from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.

SDS from NBRC or

RPSGT from BRPT

BLS healthcare provider required.

NPR certification required within 6 months of hire.

Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

  • Computer skills required.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
