Trinity Health LEAD Scanning Specialist - Medical Records in Chicopee, Massachusetts

Position Profile :

Accountable for assisting the Chicopee Specialties Practice Manager and/or designee with the coordination of the day-to-day functions and efficient operations of the Health Information Department. Performs all functions of a Scanning Specialist while providing leadership and serving as a role model, setting an example for employees in terms of customer service, professionalism, and productivity.

What You Will Do :

  • Works closely with and assists Chicopee Specialties Practice Manager and/or designee, communicating and updating all daily department activities in a timely manner.

  • Participates in daily huddles and holds weekly meetings with Chicopee Specialties Practice Manager and/or designee to bring up any concerns, solicit input and develop team.

  • Assist with chart audits, both manual and electronic. Processes internal and external mail, logging in medical record requests and transfer records into the EMR, as well as directing any medical reports/correspondence to the appropriate departments for review.

  • Handles the coordination and assignment of Scanning Specialists to achieve maximum productivity for the department. Assists with management and resolution of staffing issues. Serves as a resource for staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.

  • RHIT certification or equivalent experience in Medical Records or Health Information Management.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in medical records or Health Information Management.

  • Basic computer skills required. Electronic medical record (EMR) experience and medical terminology experience required.
