Job Description
Assistant Director/Associate Director, Neuro-Trauma, Sports Medicine
The Assistant Director/Associate, Neuro-Trauma, Sports Medicine 's primary responsibilities include the practice of the art of athletic training within the realm of intercollegiate athletics at Boston College. This includes potential work with the 750+ student athletes participating on 31 intercollegiate teams. Concurrent contact with the respective coaches, athletic administrators and other staff serving the 31 teams is expected.
This position seeks someone who is an athletic trainer who completed a CAATE-approved residency in neuro-trauma. The position will serve as the point-person for concussion management and concussion rehabilitation. In addition, the position will be responsible for the care, prevention and treatment of athletic injuries for student-athletes involved with intercollegiate athletics.
Specific competencies include:
Care and compassion for the student-athletes;
Great communication skills and the ability to work with a Team; and
Extensive knowledge in the field of Athletic Training.
Additional responsibilities.
Working nights and weekends is normal and expected;
Holiday work is normal and expected;
Team travel (by bus and air) is normal and expected;
Some heavy lifting;
Outdoor work regardless of weather conditions is expected; and
In order to create a more inclusive community, each staff member is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.
Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:
Assistant Director, Sports Medicine 3-5 years experience $55,000 - $68,750
Associate Director, Sports Medicine 5+ years experience $63,880 -$79,850
Requirements
Master’s degree required, preferably in allied health discipline
CAATE-approved residency certificate in neuro-trauma
National Athletic Trainer’s Association BOC Certification
Massachusetts Allied Health Athletic Trainers Licensure
2 years full time experience/immersion as a certified athletic trainer at the collegiate level
