State of Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse I - FT/PT - PIPELINE in Chelsea, Massachusetts
The Chelsea Soldiers' Home seeks compassionate nursing professionals for our Licensed Practice Nurse I (LPN I) positions. This is an excellent entry-level nursing opportunity for potential candidates who are interested in furthering their career and broadening their nursing experience to provide outstanding care to our veteran population.

Provide nursing care to veterans by assessing health status, responding to veterans by assessing health status, responding to veterans requests for assistance and making observation on rounds.
Administer medications, treatments and care planning.
Carry out clinicians orders, observe and identify needs for care, including medication, equipment assisted care and patient and family education.
Identify, evaluate and assess veteran health care needs and status.
Confer with the supervision of a registered nurse and assigned clinician for planned treatment and modalities.
Recognize urgent or emergency needs of patients in care situations and seek assistance of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or clinician and initiate appropriate emergency intervention as directed or needed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure that resident’s individual care plans are being followed which may also include establishing constructive relationships with veterans and their families to promote positive relationships and learning.
Document incidents with or without adverse effect to the veteran and refer to the RN for follow-up and/or investigation.
Chelsea Soldiers’ Home fills this entry-level position on an ongoing basis as staff turnover and new program development occurs. The Department has full and part-time positions available on various shifts. Posted salary range is for full-time positions and will be pro-rated accordingly for part-time positions. LPNs are required to work weekends and holidays.
This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" position in the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work.
