Job Description
AECOM is seeking a talented Mid-Level Civil Engineer to join our New England Transportation business line. The ideal candidate will be part of the New England Track Group located in Chelmsford & Boston, MA . The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks including, but not limited to conceptual engineering, design, planning, final engineering, constructability, and cost estimating.
Daily duties and responsibilities;
Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large size projects.
Leads technical client relationships related to track design, track construction and phasing of work.
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Reviews and approves track designs prepared by others
Develops estimates for the track engineering budgets
Assists in determining schedules to perform track work.
Coordinates with multiple departments related to a projects scope of work.
Develop Procurement specifications.
Perform field track inspections and develop criteria and testing requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements;
BA/BS in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field plus four years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Professional Engineer (PE) License
Preferred Qualifications;
Experience designing transit and transportation infrastructure.
Experience with design software including MicroStation, Inroads and/or OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Working knowledge of FRA, DOT, AREMA and local railroad/transit requirements
Working knowledge of applicable IEEE, NESC and other industry standards.
Familiar with MS Office.
Experience in client relations, task leadership, and team mentoring.
Able to work out of an AECOM office,
MBTA, MassDOT, CTDOT, MTA or other passenger/commuter railroad agencies preferred.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $87,778.70 - $145,000.00.
