Assistant Director of Nursing / Staff Development Educator (Facility Educator)

(NOTE: Potential candidate needs to be a Massachusetts licensed Registered Nurse or LPN.)

Nursing and Rehab Center – Buzzards Bay, MA

This premiere skilled nursing facility is looking for a Assistant Director/ Staff Development Educator of Nursing to join their team.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Assures all necessary mandatory education related to fire safety, infection control, resident rights, hazard communication, safety issues, dementia training and policy and procedure are up to date.

  • Schedules mandatory in-services on a rotating basis.

  • Assists in developing, implementing and conducting relevant in-service training programs and staff based competencies.

  • Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; following up on work results.

  • Establishes a positive work environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.

  • Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests.

  • Provides staff education & development for new hires and on-going Competencies.

  • Ensures complete and prompt reporting on incidents with follow up as necessary.

  • Ensures that significant changes in residents' condition are communicated to the physician, family or responsible party.

  • Assist with tracking & administration of staff and resident immunizations.

Key Educational/Professional Requirements

  • Currently licensed as an LPN or RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts needed.

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

  • Minimum 1 year LTC experience as Staff Development Coordinator

  • Experience with Dementia/ Geriatric psychiatric background preferred

  • CPR certification

  • 1 plus years of experience in nurse leadership in a long-term care setting.

  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations
