Location : Canton, MA
Pay Range : $96,000/year up to $113,000/year depending upon experience and qualifications
To ensure the standards for Social Services are being maintained in all Salvation Army service centers in the Massachusetts Division.

Other Qualifications
Must understand and have an appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local juvenile policies, programs, and youth development
Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
Ability to build relationships in the communities where there is need
Experience with the business principles of Accounting/Budgets, HR, and Marketing
Will be required to work nights/weekends as needed

General Responsibilities
Seek to ensure that all Salvation Army units in Massachusetts are in compliance with the National Social Service standards.
Work closely with corps officers (pastor/local business manager) in the selection and development of social ministries staff and programs
Collect and review monthly program statistics.
Advocate on behalf of The Salvation Army and clientele to elected and administrative public officials
To ensure client services are being conducted within the guidelines of Salvation Army policies
Supervise professional and clerical staff of the department
Facilitate employee development of goals and objectives on an annual basis
Maintain current profiles of all social ministries’ programs in the Division to include the social service programs that are in place, employees & credentials, budget/grant information, statistical profile, and any other pertinent information
Develop and monitor department budgets
Develop relationships with other Social Services professionals in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Member of the following:
Divisional Mission Alignment Council
Territorial Social Service and Correctional Committee
Remain up to date with KeepSAfe training and make sure all Social Ministries personnel are up to date as well.
Perform other related duties as needed
Bridging the Gap
Work with BTG Coordinator to assist and educate corps officers (pastor/local business manager), staff, and volunteers in accessing resources to begin the BTG Program in their communities. These resources include paid staff, volunteers, money & in-kind donations, and materials
Program Audits
Conduct approximately five (5) Corps audits per year using the Territorial Program Audit Tool.
Following the audit DSMD provides list of items met/not met to the Corps Officer (s) (pastor/local business manager) and then the DSMD will help them make changes or adopt new program models
One page summary of audit findings presented to the Mission Alignment Council (MAC)
Pathway of Hope
Supervise the Divisional Pathway of Hope Coordinator
Review monthly summary of all Pathway of Hope cases which will be provided by Divisional Pathway of Hope Coordinator.
Professional Development
Hold annual social service conference for staff and officers, organized by the DSMD
Ensure that the workshops address a variety of topics including ethics, supervision, de-escalation, cultural competency, and trauma-informed care
Grants
Territorial and National Grants – manage all aspects of the process in conjunction with the Advancement Department
Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP), Food Bank, Utility/Housing Assistance, Territorial Grants, FEMA, CCFA, DOE/CACFP, etc
Licensed Childcare Programs
Supervise Education Coordinator
Review monthly summary of all licensed programs provided by Education Coordinator
Present monthly summary of all programs to CFC.
Education Requirements
Master’s Degree required in Social Work
Licensed Social Worker preferred
Work Experience
At least 7 years of progressive management in social services with management experience for multiple programs, licensed childcare programs, and shelter programs
