State of Massachusetts Credentialing Coordinator (OSS I) in Canton, Massachusetts

Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (PRHC), operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), is seeking a dedicated and skilled Credentialing Coordinator\Office Support Specialist. The desired candidate is responsible for performing administrative support functions for the Medical Department, including Pediatrics, Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Pharmacy, Specialty/Outpatient Clinic, Employee Health, and Infection Prevention. This is a 37.5 hour position, Mon-Fri, 8:30am - 4:30pm. _DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES__ • Responsible for general administrative duties including, but not limited to, collecting, opening and sorting mail, Copying/faxing documents, maintaining supplies, placing orders for supplies and equipment, updating departmental schedules, and reserving meeting rooms. • Schedules and attends staff and committee meetings (including but not limited to the Medical Executive Committee) as assigned by the COM or the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), with preparation and distributing of meeting materials such as agendas, minutes, and other attachments. • Assists medical staff in completing and processing requests by/for patients regarding durable medical equipment and transportation services. • Performs data entry of patient vaccine records into the electronic medical record of newly admitted patients. • Greets/assists patients, visitors, guests, outside agency liaisons, families/guardians, and staff as appropriate and directs them to appropriate staff or offices in the Medical Department or elsewhere on the hospital campus. • Collaborates with other administrative staff to maintain accurate contact information on patients and their families, guardians, and preferred transportation companies/services to be collated in the Face Sheet Book, Transportation Book, and Stay List on the shared network drive and the electronic medical record. • Prepares, maintains, and distributes department schedules within established time frames and according to PRHC procedures, e.g. physician on-call and daily medical staff coverage schedules. • Interacts with and cross-covers for other administrative/OSS staff as needed to ensure that administrative duties throughout PRHC are completed. • Assists Department staff in maintaining, editing, and formatting departmental policies and procedures for the Medical Department including Pediatrics, Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Pharmacy, Specialty/Outpatient Clinic, Employee Health, and Infection Prevention • Prepares informational materials, departmental mailings, and flyers as requested. • Maintains public postings/bulletin board information for the Medical Department • Assists with preparation and/or compilation of reports for submission to agencies such as the Board of Registration in Medicine and the Joint Commission • Organizes special events and ad hoc meetings as needed. • Functions as Hiring Assistant for the MassCareers online hiring and personnel management platform. • Coordinates credentialing of medical staff (new and renewals) for hospital privileges, including but not limited to, verification of employment, education, and training as well as peer references in accordance with state regulations, PRHC Medical Staff Bylaws, and Joint Commission standards. • Ensures all licensure, controlled substance certifications, and other relevant credentials are complete and up to date for all members of the Medical Staff. *QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT HIRE * 1.
