Department:Systems BiologyPre-Employment Screening:Identity Schedule:35 hrs. per week / 9:00 am - 5:00 pm / Monday - Friday Job Function:Research Duties & Responsibilities:Reporting to postdoctoral fellows and project manager in the Silver lab, the Research Assistant will construct yeast strains and perform experiments to study properties of intrinsically disordered proteins and their effects as therapeutics in human cell culture. This will include designing, executing and validating cloning strategies, and human cell culture. The successful candidate will conduct assays using microscopic, biochemical, and fluorimetric techniques and will prepare samples for RNA-seq, shotgun proteomics, and metabolomics. The Research Assistant will analyze the data, produce written documentation, and prepare short reports of this work.
