Description:

The Urology Outpatient Practice is looking for a RN to assist the practice with triage, BCG in the practice, enhanced patient outcomes as the department continues to expand and evolve.

Responsibilities:

• Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgements and interventions.

• Assists physicians and NPs with formulating ongoing plan of care and treatment.

• Acts as a patient advocate by identifying resources necessary to implement the plan of care and makes appropriate referrals to Social Worker, Dietary, Home Care, Hospice, and patient support groups as needed.

• Responsible for telephone triage and communicating information to NPs and physicians.

• Serves as liaison between MD practice and inpatient/outpatient units, diagnostic facilities, and other departments with providing seamless care for our patients.

• Coordinates, performs, and tracks injections, peripheral blood draws, and central line access according to treatment plans.

• Documents relevant patient information and treatment plan in the patients’ records. Reconciles medications and documents any medication changes.

• Assists with medication prior authorizations, patient financial support documents, patient medical leave and insurance documentation as needed.

• Maintains annual mandatory education requirements and updated knowledge on current and new urology/surgical treatments and practices.

• Reviews, triages, and interprets lab results.

Requirements:

2 years of urology/surgery experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting is preferred.

BSN Required.
