PATIENT COORDINATOR, Picower Institute for Brain Research-Tsai Lab, to assist with clinical and translational research evaluating whether Gamma ENtrainment Using Sensory (GENUS) stimulation can be used to help people with memory impairment or at risk of developing impairment. Through collaboration with MIT’s Clinical ResearchCenter and faculty members across multiple disciplines at MIT, this team is working to bring GENUS to human participants. Responsibilities will include working closely with fellow researchers and graduate students to accelerate the progress of their research goals; scheduling research appointments for participants; subject interactions, including preparing for research visits and escorting subjects to research locations; executing research protocols such as MRI and EEG recording; ensuring the timely collection of protocol-related samples, including the shipment of materials to outside entities; processing, preserving, and maintaining a database of blood and other biological samples; management of primary data; assisting with protocol development and IRB submissions and maintaining IRB protocols and certifications; regularly contacting patients; participating in staff meetings and with the development/refinement of research protocols/procedures; and perform other duties as directed. May drive from MIT to other locations to transport samples or research materials.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least two years’ related experience, preferably working in a medical or scientific research setting or comparable technology-oriented business environment; excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts; detail orientation; ability to prioritize, effectively manage time, and follow-through; discretion and ability to adhere to confidentiality guidelines; and proficiency with Microsoft Office. PREFERRED: eperience with human participants research and phlebotomy training. Job #194794/6/21
