Job Description
URGENT CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER OR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT, MIT Health-Urgent Care, to provide direct patient care to MIT Health patients. Will assess a patient’s health status through interview and physical exam and synthesize this clinical information to formulate health status and diagnosis, develop a plan of care and treatment, implement a treatment plan, and evaluate follow up strategies according to age-specific plans of care. This work will be done in accordance with MIT Health policies as well as state and federal rules, regulations, and standards of care. Will also provide health education, supportive counseling, and clinical outreach to the MIT community in collaboration with other individuals or services at MIT Health and across the MIT community. Job Requirements
REQUIRED: master’s degree in nursing; graduation from an accredited family nurse practitioner program or physician assistant program; current advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) certification or passing of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE); current provider card in basic life support (BLS); MA board authorization to practice as an advanced practice nurse or MA physician assistant license; and valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and federal DEA.
