    Job Description

MEDICAL ASSISTANT, MIT Health-Sports Medicine/Orthopedics, to assist physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, athletic trainers, and nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients during and between office visits; and perform other tasks consistent with a medical assistant’s training and skills. Will be the primary liaison between clinical staff and the patient; play an active role in preparing for the daily operations of patient visits and implement key activities; lead twice-daily huddle sessions to ensure pertinent patient information is communicated between clinical staff, ensuring that appropriate materials are available so that care is delivered effectively and efficiently; manage HealtheLife requests as needed; and ensure patients comprehend medical treatment information provided by each provider and use the best medium to follow up with each patient to ensure treatment plan compliance. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or medical assistant certification (AAMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA); at least two years’ experience working in a physician’s office; ability to lift/pull weights of fifteen pounds or more, including the placement of infants and children on examination tables or weighing scales; excellent analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills; ability to comply with established risk management and safety procedures and all local/state/federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations; sound judgment and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and accuracy; ability to prioritize tasks and see them through to completion in a complex and busy environment. Will be expected to maintain CPR certification and participate in site-based CPR drills. PREFERRED: phlebotomy skills and experience in a sports medicine and ortho practice. Job #24254-5 7/25/24
