Job Description: To provide leadership to the Student Health Service office and staff; to provide high quality health care, evaluation, treatment, and referral to students. To initiate and implement health education and wellness programs. To oversee the daily operation of Student Health Service and to integrate health and wellness into the University community. -To provide direct primary health care services to students; to evaluate, examine, diagnose, treat and follow-up medical problems and preventive office visits. -To supervise the SHS staff, including nurse practitioners, physicians, administrative assistant and to implement policies and procedures for safe and appropriate primary health care services. -To triage, refer and follow medical crises within the university community, as they may impact the community at large. -To serve as liaison with community hospitals and providers; to coordinate services with reference laboratory, pharmacy, hazardous medical waste disposal services. -To provide input and liaison with health insurance issues and providers; to coordinate SHS with Student Health Insurance process on campus. -To interact with students' families and other health care providers as appropriate, in the best interest of the students and without the compromise of confidential information. -To develop and manage the budget for the SHS, both revenues and appropriate expenditures. -To supervise the management of a confidential medical record system for student-clients; to control and protect private medical information and its transmission and follow applicable laws. -To initiate and implement health education and wellness programs on campus. -To contribute health information to campus programs to increase awareness of healthy living and visibility of SHS. -To serve as a liaison with Cambridge and Massachusetts Public Health Departments. -To collaborate with other departments in the Division of Student Life and Academic Development and other Divisions, as requested. -To manage the shared services of the Consulting Psychiatrist (Clinical Nurse Specialist) with the Counseling Center, and to coordinate joint staff meetings with both offices. -To present pertinent training at orientations and CA trainings. Requirements: -Bachelor's Degree. -Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as Director or Associate Director of experience in both clinical and administrative functions in college health, with knowledge of specific health and developmental needs of college students. -Must be a Massachusetts Registered Nurse authorized to practice in the expanded role and nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner. -Must possess a Massachusetts Controlled Substances and Federal DEA prescribing licenses. -Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. -Experience supervising professional staff (nurse practitioners) in a clinical setting. -Experience managing a departmental budget. -Expertise and interest in college student health education and programming, with experience in supervision of programs and policies. -Excellent leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy. -Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, does your visa status allow you to work at Lesley University. Additional Information: Salary Grade 28: $85,774 - $106,360 Background checks are required for all positions.
