Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated glassware specialist to provide critical lab support. The glass wash team provides a centralized service responsible for dirty pickup processing and clean delivery of laboratory glass. Glass must be inspected to ensure all pieces are visually cleaned before returning to customer locations. A successful candidate should have great attention to detail outstanding organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and be able to work independently.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in Standard Operating Procedures SOP Development

• Mentor/Train new team members

• Work with team lead to develop process improvement initiatives

• Pick up and deliver glass ware and plastic ware.

• Observe the established procedures for the handling and transporting of glassware and contaminated items.

• Operate autoclaves for decontamination or sanitization.

• Operate glassware washers dry heat sterilizers and ultrasonic baths

• Maintain temperature chart recorders/ equipment forms and use proper documentation.

• Perform routine inspections/checks on glass wash and autoclave equipment

• Prepare items for sanitization including glassware caps and related articles employing procedural steps during the process.

• Inspect glassware for cleanliness and structural defects.

• Routinely checks inventory of glassware notifying Site Manager of deficiencies.

• Provide housekeeping of glassware processing areas.

• Follow all procedures in performing all aspects of glassware processing.

• Perform monthly de-scale and routine maintenance.

• Use Good Documentation Practices GDP for all paperwork.

• Observe all safety precautions and be proactive in raising safety and operational concerns.

• This role will work closely with other teams to seamlessly deliver lab support services.

• Will be required to cross-train and back-up other lab support areas as needed.

• Demonstrates appropriate use of relevant equipment/software after training.

• Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety security environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.

  Skills Needed:

• Ability to follow oral and written directions.

• Excellent customer service skills complemented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in a scientific field OR Associates degree in a scientific field with 2 or more years of experience in a related field OR High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous glass wash experience preferred

• Prior Mentoring experience

• Experience creating SOPs

• MS Office Skills: Outlook PowerPoint Word.
