Job Description Summary

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is now offering up to $10,000 in signing bonuses for our Sr. Cardiac Sonographer positions.

Important Details:

• Signing Bonuses are paid out in three payments. You will receive your first payment (one third of the total amount) upon completion of the first 30 days of employment. You will receive the second payment upon completion of six (6) months and the third payment (final of the total amount) owe upon completion of one year following your start date. The bonus payments will be paid on the next regular pay day following the date on which you become eligible for the bonus. All payments are subject to applicable taxes.

To be eligible:

• Signing Bonus is determined on a full-time status of 40 hours. Hours less than 40 hours will be prorated. Per Diem roles are not eligible.

• Current and former BILH candidates - restrictions apply. Employees within the BILH system are not eligible for the bonus or if you have been employed by a BILH entity within the last 12-months.

• If you leave Lahey Hospital & Medical Center before your first anniversary you will pay back the signing bonus.

• Please note, signing bonuses are subject to change based on the organizations hiring needs and will be determined by Talent Acquisition on an ongoing basis. BILH/LHMC Talent Acquisition reserves the right to change signing bonus eligible jobs and amounts at any time.

Direct patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings; explaining and performing the diagnostic noninvasive examination involving the application of high frequency ultrasonic waves with medical echocardiogram equipment. Administrative management of electronic documentation for patient test type and testing schedules. Ensures that testing procedures are performed according to hospital and department policy and standards. Works in a team environment under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and department Leads.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

1) Performs echocardiogram diagnostic test from Provider order via EMR and reports test information with appropriate EMR documentation according to department policy and procedures; clarifies MD orders and goals of Rx .

Types of echocardiogram diagnostic tests: diagnostic m-mode, two-dimensional, spectral Doppler, color Doppler, and exercise/pharmacological stress echocardiograms.

2) Ability to place and remove peripheral IV to administrate contrast agent or agitated saline when criteria for imaging use are met via echocardiogram protocol.

3) Respond to STAT echo calls and Code Blues as required

4) Identifies abnormal/critical echocardiogram findings during testing and ensures notification to physician as appropriately needed.

5) Troubleshoots technical methods of echocardiography as necessary.

Checks echocardiogram equipment to ensure that it’s functioning correctly before patient use.

6) Demonstrates knowledge of the echocardiogram machines and echocardiogram electronic management system. Able to access database to retrieve and send data utilizing the clinical and financial information systems. Able to troubleshoot basic technical echocardiogram machine issues. Performs all echocardiogram machine functions with confidence

7) Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of testing rooms; ensures that it is stocked with supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Associate degree and/or equivalent experience in clinical testing environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: ARDMS/RDCS accreditation or accreditation eligible and current basic life support (BLS) certification required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Strong organizational and both written and verbal comminucation skills. In depth knowledge of cardiac anaotmy, and the ability to apply that knowdelge to gather relevant information for diagnotsic evaluation. In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.

Experience: Minimum of four years of experience in echocardiography preferred.
