About the Job
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center proudly holds a Comprehensive Stroke Center designation and is proudly growing Neuroscience Critical Care within the organization. The NCCU is an acute intensive care unit specializing in the care of acutely ill patients with life threatening neurologic disease or life threatening neurological manifestation of a system disease. Using the latest technologies, nursing staff deliver care to patients requiring ventilatory support, hemodynamic monitoring, and ICP monitoring, osmotic therapy, vasopressor management, in addition to providing support and comfort to the families of these patients.
12 beds. Nurse to patient ratio 1.2 or 1.3
2 years or more of Neuroscience experience at an acute care facility preferred.
American Association of Critical Care Nurses Progressive Care Registered Nurse (PCCN) certification.
Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS certification preferred.
New graduate nurses and applicants without acute care experience will not be considered.
The work schedule will be 12-hour shifts. The night shift is 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
You will be asked to cover shifts every 3rd weekend and 6 rotating holidays.
You may be asked to change to a day/night rotation to support the needs of patients in critical care units if necessary.
