Eliot is seeking a Occupational Therapist who has the ability to advocate for community supports and services on behalf of the individuals. and is able to identify effective strategies to address clinical issues/events.

Eliot Supports and empowers survivors of brain injury with individualized community based services in both living and day program environments. Our programs offer services designed to rebuild communication, social and daily living skills that increase independence and enhance the quality of life.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Licensed as an OTR/L by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Health.

  • Must have at two years of experience specific to population.

  • Must have skills to establish supportive relationships with persons with developmental disabilities, brain injury, severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect for their preferences for treatment.

  • M ust have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

    Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of Persons and provide customized interventions in the following areas; Self-care, sensory integration, cognitive and executive functioning, social skills, community integration and/or adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.

  • Provide support to all staff members in assessing clinical crisis, the changing needs of Persons and intervening to assist Persons on a daily basis. Provide daily clinical training and direction to all staff members in order to best respond to Persons need.

  • Act as a resource to provide support and education to persons served, their families and other supports, about the persons condition and needs.

  • Ensure communication within the Team regarding persons conditions as well as with outside supports including medical services, psychiatric services, Care Coordination Entities, family members, guardians and any other providers/individuals involved in persons care as warranted and assigned.

  • Ensure that all services provided are culturally and linguistically appropriate. This may include accessing and utilizing resources to meet the needs of Person.

  • Participate in the assessment process, development of Individual Service Plans (ISP), and perform interventions outlined in persons ISP, as assigned.

  • Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with standards established by the agency, service structure, and applicable auditing and quality assurance regulations.

  • Attend treatment team meetings of Persons as indicated by the Person’s ISP and participate in Nursing and Team Meetings in accordance with Eliot policies and DDS standards.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with DDS, community providers, community agencies and Eliot administration. Attend meetings as required by DDS or Eliot administration.

  • Ensure Persons are free from neglect and abuse. Report all concerns/ suspicions of abuse/neglect to supervisor and the Disabled Persons Protection Commission, Executive Office of Elder Affairs or Dept. Children and Families.

Compensation: $69,680.00

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm/9am-5pm

Service area includes Framingham, Burlington and Haverhill(mileage reimbursed).
