VCA Brookline Animal Hospital is a fast-paced, multi-doctor small animal practice in Brookline, Massachusetts.

  • VCA Brookline Animal Hospital is a seven doctor small animal, fast paced general medicine practice in Brookline, Massachusetts. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care. Applicant must be a reliable self-starter and motivated by a challenging, fast-paced environment. Strong candidates will have experience, a positive attitude, a friendly demeanor towards both animals and people, will be detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task and can demonstrate the importance and understanding of high quality customer service and patient care. In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include:

  • Client Relations and Education

  • Nursing Care

  • Housekeeping/Maintenance

  • Examinations/Assessments

  • Record Keeping

  • Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence

  • Radiology

  • Laboratory

  • Pharmacy

  • Marketing

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong client relations and interpersonal skills.

  • Intermediate to expert computer skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter and team player.

  • The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

  • The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.

  • Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others’ reactions

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Scheduling flexibility to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
