Eliot Community Human Services SS Nurse Manager - Part Time - Flexible Schedule in Brockton, Massachusetts
Description
Eliot's Community Treatment Residence in Brockton, supporting latency age children (infancy to 12 years old) referred by the Department of Children and Families, is seeking a part time nurse manager with experience working with the population. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to establish a positive rapport with a culturally and economically diverse group of children and families and to deliver services within the established trauma informed and strengths-based framework and clinical model and coordination of care for youth in care, across all DCF programs.
Eliot’s Social Services Division includes short-term community-based assessment, stabilization and support programs (Emergency Residence) and longer term assessment and treatment programs (Community Treatment Residence) for latency age children (birth to 12 years old) and adolescents (13 to 21 years old). The programs are contracted with the Department of Children and Families and provide a safe, structured, and respectful environment for children and youth to thrive, change and grow by focusing on treatment, skill-building, and permanency.
Responsibilities:
Supervise LPN, ensuring adherence to all systems and policies.
Training and consultation for staff.
Identify, screen, and evaluate performance of youth with high medical needs using standard measures.
Provide initial and ongoing screening and physicals to youth entering and discharging from care.
Collaborate with youths’ PCP to ensure effective delivery of existing and new medical concerns and care.
Support the Family Team with the development and follow up of treatment goals for the Individual Service Plan in the home. Ensure plans are developed in accordance with the requirements of the funding source, sound clinical practice, and in collaboration with the family.
Facilitate and oversee medication training (MAP), protocols and compliance.
Consult with and support the program relative to youth with high medical needs.
Provide intervention in the areas of cognition, social behaviors, perceptual motor skills, and learning style.
Provide trans-disciplinary services to families and children utilizing a Family Team approach.
Qualifications:
Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse in Massachusetts and possess a Bachelor Degree in Nursing with a concentration or considerable experience with children and youth.
Must have good clinical documentation skills and be able to meet deadlines.
Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
Demonstrate sound judgment and effective, solution focused, problem solving skills.
Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with staff, co-workers, and supervisor.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural groups.
Schedule: Part Time 20-24hrs - Flexible schedule, flexible schedule.
