Brockton Hospital Sepsis Coordinator in Brockton, Massachusetts
Under the direction of the Director, Infection Prevention, the Sepsis Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and ongoing adherence of sepsis program protocols and therapies. The Sepsis Coordinator position supports the approach of early recognition of sepsis and early goal directed therapy to improve outcomes for patient with sepsis, severe sepsis and septic shock. The Sepsis Coordinator will work with the Medical and Nursing Teams to coordinate sepsis care through the continuum, while monitoring and reporting quality outcomes. Within the scope of established position description practices independently, however reports inconsistencies and variances to the Director. It is expected the Sepsis Coordinator will demonstrate initiative in accomplishing the primary responsibilities of this position with little direct supervision. Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, Providers, Nurses, other associates, outside agencies and vendors.
Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required. Minimum Bachelors in Nursing required, Masters in a health related field or Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred. Minimum 10 years clinical nursing experience, preferably in the critical care or emergency department setting. Basic proficiency in Excel, working knowledge of Meditech system preferred.
