Signature Healthcare’s Brockton Hospital is hiring for a Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) for t he Emergency Department in Brockton, MA.

Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital Emergency Department (ED) has undergone a renovation concluding in 2024 to better meet the needs of our patients and staff. The ED staff care for patients of all ages, supporting the needs of our diverse community. The ED includes 49 beds including a secured 12 bed area for behavioral health patients. The ED employees RN, LPN, Paramedic, Technical and Clerical Staff and works closely with Security and other ancillary services of the organization.
We are seeking highly motivated RN's with ED experience to join our team. Our goal is to provide a patient experience that provides a high quality of care and satisfaction in a department that provides a rewarding and safe experience for our staff.
Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities
The professional nurse is responsible for managing all aspects of the nursing process and the delivery of patient centered care.
Perform functions and provides care in accordance with organizational policies, consistent with Emergency Nurse Association standards.
Administer medications safely utilizing bedside medication verification. Compliance with medication policies.
Coordinate development and implementation of plan of care for patient with physician.
Document assessments, patient care, outcomes and patient teaching accurately in electronic medical record. Notify physician of changes in patient condition and needs as appropriate.
Communicate effectively and professionally with members of healthcare team. Demonstrates compliance with WE CARE standards and values.
Provides compassionate care to patients and family members in varying circumstances in ED. Demonstrates commitment to Relationship Based Care.
Counsel, educate and include patients and family members about plan of care.
Involve appropriate services in care delivery including, but not limited to Interpreter Services, Social Work, and pastoral care.
Quality of care: systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
Supports a Culture of Safety through commitment to a safe patient and staff experience. Commits to compliance with patient identification, and Infection Prevention policies. Actively participates in efforts to ensure continuous compliance with regulatory standards. Demonstrates understanding of and support of ethics in healthcare.
Demonstrates awareness of roles and responsibilities in hospital codes and emergency preparedness.
Reflects knowledge of current professional practice standards, laws, regulations and changes in health care delivery in daily practice.
Education: Maintains current knowledge and required certifications. Participates in educational events and inservices relevant to practice.
Collegiality: Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and other healthcare professionals as colleagues. Demonstrates ability to receive feedback.
Participation in performance improvement activities and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
Preferred:
ED Nursing experience
Acute care Nursing experience
Meditech experience
Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program
Certification in Emergency Nursing
Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) certifications.
