Must be a graduate from an approved school of nursing with current Massachusetts license and CPR certification. IV certification preferred.

RN duties include: • Assists physician in exam rooms and laser room as needed. • Accountable for administration of IV procedures in a safe and accurate manner. • Responsible for and maintaining a clean and sterile environment. Ensures adherence to Signature Health’s infection control precautions. • Advises patient of procedure, his/her physical condition requiring such procedure and risks involved. • Obtain pre-procedural consent forms and other related documentation. Educates patients regarding administration of medications, as well as pre- or post-procedural instructions as directed by the ophthalmologist. • Administer fluorescein dye and ICG IV for angiography tests. Performs ophthalmic photography as needed taking images of patients (ocular fundus imaging system (FA, ICG) optical coherence tomography (OCT), corneal topography, specular microscopy, photo Slit Lamp Biomicroscope and modifies equipment for each test. • Monitors patients’ conditions and reactions during the imaging process for Fluorescein Angiography (FA), documents in the EMR and notifies physician as needed. • Maintains inventory supplies, equipment and reagents ensuring adequate supplies are on hand for patient care. Works with supervisor to place orders on a timely basis. Receives and confirms accuracy of supply delivery including delayed shipments. • Recognizes problems or malfunctions of photographic, diagnostic and related equipment and advises manager of malfunctions requiring repair. May assist in making minor adjustments and perform preventive maintenance. • Provides triage with patients over the phone, documents in the EMR and discusses with physician as appropriate.
